There have been a number of restaurants in Shreveport/Bossier City that have closed their doors in the last year-and-a-half.  Ruby Tuesday's closed locations in both cities in August of 2016.   Cheddar's on E.70th in Shreveport shut its doors in September last year and Genghis Grill closed in December.  More recently TGI Friday's, Boneheads, and Grimaldi's Pizzeria in Shreveport became the latest chain restaurants to close their doors in the area.

This means that there are a number of prime restaurant locations up for grabs in Shreveport/Bossier.  So, we decided to do a little informal poll on Facebook:  What restaurants should come to Shreveport/Bossier?

Here are the Top 5 responses:

    Dave & Buster's

The overwhelming top response is this Sports/Adult Games restaurant and bar that was founded in Dallas in 1982.  (I've never been to D & B's, but one friend described it to me as Chuck E. Cheese for adults.)  Judging from our poll, Dave & Buster's would be hugely successful in the Ark-La-Tex.  For now you'll have to drive to Dallas, Houston, or Little Rock to partake of the fun and games.  Oh, and the food, too.

    Red Robin

Best known for their bottomless steak fries, this chain of gourmet burger restaurants opened its first store in 1969.  There is now at least one Red Robin in 44 states across America, and there's one not far from Shreveport/Bossier in Longview.  The star of the menu is the Royal Red Robin burger which has a fried egg on top.

    Jack In The Box

One of America's oldest chains, the first Jack In the Box opened in San Diego in 1951.  One of the first states to which it expanded was Texas in 1964.  Jack In the Box is still huge in Texas.  There are 214 locations in the Dallas area and 247 around Houston.  But the closest one to Shreveport/Bossier is in Longview.  Still has one of the best tacos around.

    Steak 'n Shake

This is another burger chain that has stood the test of time.  Founded in Normal, Illinois, in 1934, founder Gus Belt would wheel in a barrel of steaks and grind the beef into burgers in front of the guests just to prove that his burgers were indeed "steakburgers".  Right now the closest locations are in Tyler and Texarkana.  Shakes and malts are still made the old-fashioned way.

    In-N-Out Burger

This burger chain is legendary in California and only recently has begun to expand into other parts of the country. The first stores in Texas opened in Allen and Frisco in 2011 and now there are locations all up and down the I-35 corridor between Dallas and San Antonio.  Famous for their burger spread which is made from a secret recipe.
