Barksdale Air Force Base has announced on Friday that they will be skipping the 2018 Airshow! Officials have cited high costs and man hours for the reason of the change. However the Air Show will continue in 2019 and coming back every other year after that. Barksdale says it takes 2,500 Airmen per day for the event and nearly 46,000 man-hours to put on the Air Show both with planning and during the event.

Barksdale Air Force Base says that while they're cutting back on the shows their support for the community in Shreveport Bossier City will continue.

While it sucks to see this happening at least this doesn't mean the Air Show is gone for good and maybe this will make the show that much more special.
