Barskdale Air Show Will Be 'Flexible' for Bad Weather

Barksdale Air Show organizers have a plan should storms hit the Shreveport-Bossier area.

Barksdale Air Force Base Public Affairs Officer Lt. Chris Sullivan has explained what will happen if bad weather hits the air show.

"We have to remain flexible. If [bad weather] happens, we will be making announcements over our loudspeakers and via our over Facebook Page and our website to keep people informed," Lt. Sullivan told KEEL.

Sullivan added that high winds alone may impact the air show's performances.

"If there are high winds, we're going to have to do low flights with our F22 team, with the Thunderbirds, and keep it real low," he said. "It's real fast and real low, but it's going to be a lower show."

The 2014 Barksdale Air Force Base Air Show is a two-day event taking place on Saturday and Sunday (April 26 and 27). Gates open at 9 a.m. both days, and the show starts at 11 a.m.

Among the major attractions are the legendary U.S.A.F. Thunderbirds and The F-22 demo team.
