Earth Day is on Saturday, April 22nd.  It's a worldwide celebration of the environment, and participants are urged to get outside and enjoy nature by taking a walk or planting a tree.

Shreveport's Sci-Port Discovery Center is planning a unique event again this year. It's a celebration of bugs because, after all, there wouldn't be any plants if it weren't for our creepy-crawly-flying friends.  Sci-Port's 2nd annual Bug Bazaar will take place from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. outside the center in the Lake Street/Clyde Fant parking lot.

Christie Rodriguez, Director of Revenue Programs for Sci-Port, says that the Bug Bazaar celebrates bugs and the unique role they play in our ecosystem. Admission is $3 and activities include make-and-takes, live animals and bugs, and vendors. Kids are encouraged to dress up as their favorite bugs and compete in the Bugs On Parade Costume Contest.
