Automotive pioneer, innovator, and horsepower fanatic Carroll Shelby amassed quite a few cars during his long and storied career.  This former test pilot and flight instructor got a taste for speed during his service during WWII with the US Army Air Corps (which would eventually become the US Air Force), and that would lead him to his eventual destiny -  racing and designing some of the finest motor vehicles ever to grace this earth.  Mr. Shelby is responsible for the AC Cobra, Ford GT, Daytona Coupe, GT40, the extremely popular GT350 and GT500 versions of the Ford Mustang, as well as numerous high-performance versions of Dodge and Chrysler vehicles, and several smaller projects.  To say that every single one of the vehicles that bear Carroll's name are collector's items would be a monumental understatement.

Now, you can own a sleek, drive-able piece of this man's incredible legacy and, by extension, automotive history.  Carroll Shelby's personal collection of vehicles, including some extremely rare and unique rides, will be hitting the auction block June 3rd.  Autoblog.com is reporting that the vehicles will have no reserve!  Potential buyers better be packing a huge wallet though - Mr. Shelby's personal collection is sure to be pricey.
