Seems like every time you turn around there's an awards show on TV.  There are at least two for Country music, two or three for Pop music, and one that throws everything in a pot and stirs it up to create some weird concoctions like the award for "Best Female Vocal for Pop Punk Country Song"--the Grammys.  Yet there's not been an awards show dedicated to Rock music since the Rock Music Awards ended a three-year run on NBC in 1977.  1977 for cryin' out loud!

Well, today that changes.  Tonight marks the inaugural broadcast of the Loudwire Music Awards on AXS TV.  WWE icon Chris Jericho will host the show which starts at 9pm and will be simultaneously live-streamed online via Loudwire's Facebook page and on the WWE Facebook page.

The Loudwire Music Awards will be held at the Novo Theater in the L.A. Live complex in downtown Los Angeles.  Rob Halford, Tony Iommi, and Sammy Hagar will be on hand to receive special awards.  There will also be numerous performances from some of the biggest bands in the world:  Avenged Sevenfold, In This Moment, Anthrax, Halestorm, Nothing More, Starset, and special performances by Ice-T and Body Count, Megadeth's Dave Mustaine, Rob Halford and Hatebreed's Jamey Jasta.

This Saturday night at 10:00, 99X will air a special edition of the Loudwire Music Awards hosted by Toni Gonzalez.  You can hear Toni every weeknight on 99X as she hosts Loudwire Nights.
