According to WAFB channel 9, a Louisiana man convicted of rape has been released on bond while he awaits sentencing. Earl Coleman, 49, was recently convicted of aggravated rape of an eight-year-old girl. He is expected to be sentenced on June 1, 2017 and could receive a life sentence.

This is where the already sad story takes a strange twist for the victim's family. Coleman requested to be released while awaiting sentencing so he could care for his ailing mother. Prosecutors requested that Coleman's bond be set at $500,000. However, that request was not granted. Judge Judy White set Coleman's bond at $10,000. Bond was posted. Now Earl Coleman, who is required to wear an electronically monitored ankle bracelet is living down the street from where his victim lives.

As you can imagine this has sparked a heated debated.  We want to know what you think. Do you believe Coleman should have been released? Let us know, comment on our Facebook page.
