Dumb and Dumber starring Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels is one of the silliest movies ever made.  My wife thinks it's beneath contempt, and would never deign to spend one minute watching it.  I on the other hand think it's one of the funniest movies ever made, especially the mini-bike snot scene.  (If you do not know to what I'm referring, you'll have to rent the movie or stream it to see for yourself.)

One of the things that makes it so funny is how over-the-top it is, because nobody could be that stupid, right?  Au contraire, mes amis.  All one has to do is look at the press releases from area law enforcement agencies to discover that there be idiots among us.

Take one Rickey L. Johnson of Shreveport.  According to a press release from the Shreveport Police Department, on September 20th Mr. Johnson was hired  by a local company to perform some repairs to the outside of their building.  The owner of the business left his establishment sometime early in the afternoon, but left a generator running inside the unsecured building while Mr. Johnson continued to work outside. Upon returning the owner found that Mr. Johnson was no longer on the property, and neither was the generator.

The police were notified that a probable theft had occurred and they arrived on the scene at approximately 3pm.  The business is equipped with video surveillance cameras which just happened to capture what happened to Mr. Johnson and the generator.  On the video Mr. Johnson can be seen loading the generator and himself into a taxi cab which he had hailed from the scene.

Through further investigation, police discovered that Mr. Johnson pawned the generator, and then headed to a local casino to play with his ill-gotten gain.  Officers tracked Mr. Johnson to one of the gaming tables where he was arrested and escorted to the Shreveport City Jail.

It is unknown whether or not Mr. Johnson was on a winning streak at the table.  Suffice it to say that the house won big this time.  That would be the big house.
