Centenary College’s Hurley School of Music will showcase music composed by Associate Professor Todd Gabriel on Thursday, February 7, at 7:30 p.m. in Anderson Auditorium. The faculty composition recital, Friendly First Hearings, will be free and open to the public.

All musical selections are original compositions by Gabriel and feature works for piano, viola, flute, cello, violin, and bass.

Performers in the recital include Chris Allen, Jennifer Carsillo, Ruth Drummond, Adrienne Gabriel, Gay Grosz, Dennette McDermott, Larry Meier, and Dan Santelices.

A Juilliard graduate, Gabriel has been a tenured member of the Phoenix, Alabama, and Queensland (Australia) Symphony Orchestras. His composition, The Noble Hound, was the winner of the International Marimba League’s classical division. Major artists have debuted his work in both New York and Europe: Haim Avitsur, the Royal Northern College of Music with Trio Llano, the Fry Street Quartet, and Living Artist Recordings’ cellist, Craig Hultgren.
