It seems that these days, everything in the news is bad news. Race riots, wars all over the world, the Secret Service and their Bolivian hookers. Even the weather and sports - tornadoes, hurricanes, tsunamis, the Saint's bounty-gate. Bad. Bad. bad. It seems the only GOOD thing about TV news these days is when you run across a hot news anchor, sportscaster, or meteorologist. Then it doesn't really matter what they're talking about. That being said, I started scanning the channels to see what local talent I could come up with. Below are what I found to be the cream of the crop. Did I miss anyone? Let me know.     Jody Lowery - KTBS News Anchor

    Originally born in Little Rock, Jody eventually ended up moving to Tennessee with where she graduated from the University of Memphis with a Journalism degree. Jody called KTBS and Shreveport home before she moved to Tampa in 2008. Now she's back, and you can catch her doing the 5, 6, and 10 pm news on KTBS. The only anchor on Shreveport television that can make me enjoy footage of a three alarm fire.

    Leslie Spoon - KTBS Sports

    Leslie is a graduate of Benton High School, and has always been heavily involved in sports. She received a full scholarship to play basketball at Georgia Southern university, where she earned a B.S. degree in Broadcasting and a B.S. degree in Public Relations. Leslie Spoon joined the KTBS team in 2008 as a Sports Anchor and Reporter. She actually began her career in television as an intern at KTBS during the summer of 2007. After a short stint in public relations, Leslie realized T.V. sports is her true passion, and she's back on the air at KTBS.

    Alexandra Cranford - KTBS Weather

    Growing up on the Northshore of New Orleans, Alexandra learned early that weather has a tremendous effect on people’s lives. Hurricanes Katrina, Ike and Gustav introduced her to how powerful weather can be. Those storms sparked Alexandra’s fascination with weather that led to her career in meteorology.Alexandra graduated Summa Cum Laude in 2009 from Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge. Alexandra has also worked as a NASA Science and Engineering Apprentice in the Naval Research Laboratory’s Office of Oceanography. She also served as Chief Forecaster for LSU’s campus news program and worked in a Biological Sciences Laboratory as part of her LSU Chancellor’s Scholarship. Alexandra joined the KTBS 3 Storm Team in October 2011. You can catch her forecasts weekdays on KTBS 3 First News, KTBS 3 News at 7 a.m. and KTBS 3 News Midday.
