Political analyst and blogger John Settle talks with 101.7 / 710 KEEL's Robert J Wright and Erin McCarty about the heated discussion at Monday's City Council working session between council member Willie Bradford and Shreveport Police Chief Alan Crump.

Settle tells KEEL listeners that Bradford and Chief Crump "got into an exchange." Settle then speculates that the Chief "was less than candid with the council." Settle says that, despite recent offers by both the Louisiana State Police and the Caddo Parish Sheriff's Office to assist Shreveport police, Crump told the council "that (Caddo Sheriff Steve) Prator did not want to help and did not offer any help at all."

Settle says that Crump, "Is a liability. He has been a liability. And even more so now." Settle adds that the Chief, in his opinion, is just as much of a liability in the African-American community. Previously, all four major mayoral challengers have said they would replace Crump if elected.
