Listen, impressionable young men and women of the world, because this is important: you should not watch Suicide Squad and think that the Joker and Harley Quinn represent any kind of reasonable #RelationshipGoal. This is an abusive and possessive relationship, start to finish, and while there may be a more consensual love story scattered among the footage on the cutting room floor, we won’t know until we see it.  This is a pretty important disclaimer to throw out there before we talk about this footage.

Got it? Good. Now, if you’re interested in how Jared Leto and Margot Robbie worked at creating their unpredictable relationship in Suicide Squad, then this featurette (via Heroic Hollywood) is for you. There are actually some interesting directorial decisions embedded in this footage; I had not heard, for example, that Leto and Robbie had not spent any time in rehearsal together, imbuing the scenes with a kind of nervous uncertainty that definitely comes across in the movie. Leto is doing his method actor thing while Robbie is trying to react as much as act; it’s an interesting collision of the two styles, and it just increases my appreciation for Robbie’s performance given what she had to work with.

This featurette is just one of many behind-the-scenes features we’ll find on the Suicide Squad extended edition headed for home video. For those of you who skipped the movie in theaters and are waiting to watch it from the comfort of your own home, here’s all the plot details you’ll need to get you up to speed:

It feels good to be bad…Assemble a team of the world’s most dangerous, incarcerated Super Villains, provide them with the most powerful arsenal at the government’s disposal, and send them off on a mission to defeat an enigmatic, insuperable entity.

U.S. intelligence officer Amanda Waller has determined only a secretly convened group of disparate, despicable individuals with next to nothing to lose will do. However, once they realize they weren’t picked to succeed but chosen for their patent culpability when they inevitably fail, will the Suicide Squad resolve to die trying, or decide it’s every man for himself?

The Suicide Squad extended cut hits the digital marketplace on November 15 and Blu-ray and DVD on December 13.
