The man who once belted at the top of his lungs, ‘My Name is Kid,’ might know a thing or two about creating a rock anthem. As such, Kid Rock has been drafted by the NFL and Pepsi to provide a little something special for his hometown Detroit Lions.

The musician has partnered Pepsi to celebrate the upcoming season with a new track that will be part of a series known as ‘Pepsi Anthems.’ The soft drink company has lined up several musicians to record tracks for their home teams, with pop star Kelly Clarkson already releasing her ode to the Dallas Cowboys, ‘Get Up (A Cowboy’s Anthem)’ and Travie McCoy serving up ‘All In’ for the defending Super Bowl champion New York Giants.

Rock will be next up, as songs are being released weekly leading up to the new season. At the Pepsi Anthems website, he’s seen posing with Lions starting quarterback Matthew Stafford. Once the song is out this week, fans will be able to download the song with redemption codes on specially marked packages of Pepsi, Diet Pepsi, and Pepsi Max.

Following Rock, there will be a remix of Wiz Khalifa‘s ‘Black and Yellow’ specifically for the Pittsburgh Steelers, and Ice Cube is finishing up the campaign with a song for the Oakland Raiders.
