AS we reported yesterday, King’s X drummer Jerry Gaskill suffered a heart attack on Saturday night. The band has just updated their fans on the condition of Gaskill, stating that there are some positive signs concerning his recovery.

After being rushed to the hospital Sunday night and undergoing an emergency operation, Gaskill is now recuperating in intensive care. The band released the following statement in a press release concerning the drummer’s health and the cancellation of their North American tour:

In light of Jerry’s sudden hospitalization, all upcoming North American tour dates for King’s X have been cancelled. Jerry will be spending these days recovering back to full health so that he can hopefully join the band behind the drums at some point in the future.

The band also wrote about Gaskill’s condition on their official Facebook fan page earlier today (Feb. 28):

We are sorry to confirm that Jerry Gaskill suffered a heart attack in the late Saturday night/ early Sunday morning hours. He has been on a ventilator since. However, there are some positive signs concerning his recovery. Thanks to everyone for the overwhelming support and well wishes. We’ll let you know more info soon.
