Amazon announced they were looking for a location for their second headquarters many cities started chomping at the bit. Amazon plans to spend up to 5 Billion in construction and in turn there could possibly be 50,000 high-paying jobs. Looking at the long run effects of Amazon coming into a town tens of thousands of jobs could be created. Why wouldn't a town that meets that criteria go above and beyond to become Amazons newest hometown? Little Rock, Arkansas used this hyped up bid to hopefully get another company to move in and call them home.

Little Rock, took out an add on The Washington Post which is owned by Jeff Brazos the CEO of Amazon. The ad looked like a break up letter. The letter started off with "HEY AMAZON, WE NEED TO TALK. It’s not you, it’s us." Basically the town of Little Rock ingeniously promoted themselves and what they have to offer. "Amazon, you’ve got so much going for you, and you’ll find what you’re looking for. But it’s just not us." they said. Instead they flaunted how amazing and irresistible they are "We’re happy knowing that many great companies find our natural good looks, coupled with our brains for business, irresistible. If another expansion opportunity comes up and you’re ready to join the visionaries, dreamers, romantics and the idealists who know that bigger isn’t always better, give us a call. We would love to find a way to make 'us' work out. Love, Little Rock"
Little Rock had to be petty, I mean what break up doesn't have a little healthy dose of petty right? They hired an airplane to fly over the Amazon headquarters in downtown Seattle with a banner that read "HEY AMAZON, IT'S NOT YOU, IT'S US. LOVELITTLEROCK.ORG" Hey Little Rock, we see you, and we hope you find what you're looking for!
