If the LSU football team is going to see their offense become a consistent scoring machine, they’ll need good play from their young group of wide receivers.

Texas Tech transfer Johnathan Giles says during the first few days of August camp, there’s been a lot of work on technique with passing game coordinator Jerry Sullivan.

A pair of Freshman, including Bossier City's Terrace Marshall, will be major factors in the passing game too. Marshall is joined by fellow Freshman Ja’Marr Chase, to form a dynamic duo of first-year players who can make noise on the field.

But it's going to come down to a combination of new Offensive Coordinator Steve Ensminger's spread offense, and whoever the quarterback ends up being.

Giles says calls new graduate transfer quarterback Joe Burrow a leader, with an accurate arm and a big voice in the huddle. Which is exactly what LSU was hoping for when they put the full court press on to bring Burrow south from Ohio State.

If Burrow is as advertised, the trio of Giles, Marshall, and Chase will open up Ensminger's new playbook further than expected.
