Louisiana Lt. Governor Billy Nungesser talks with 101.7 / 710 KEEL's Robert J Wright about the economic impact of LSU football, the reopening of three state parks including Lake Bisteneau and his plans when it comes to running for reelection.

Nungesser tells KEEL listeners that LSU footbal "is big business. It brings people here, tourists here. it also is an economic engine." He also mentions the positive influence on the area economy from the highly successful athletic program at Louisiana Tech. "It's good for tourism, it's good for business and it's good for those local economies wherever our colleges are."

Nungesser also talks about the reopening of Lake Bisteneau State Park: "We're excited, not only about the brand new cabins opening up, completely renovated from the flood, but, also, we got a little over $17 million of federal money through the the BP settlement...to help do some real improvements on several of our parks, plus...we're going to see improvements at all of our state parks and all of our parks getting back to when were proud of them."
