I've read all three Millennium books (Stieg Larsson's 'The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo', 'The Girl Who Played With Fire', and 'The Girl Who Kicked the Hornet's Nest'), and they were all phenomenal!  I've seen the European versions of the movies, and they were all mediocre.  So, I've been waiting with bated breath  to see if the Hollywood versions can meet up to my grand expectations (after the flix from across the pond failed so miserably), and my first opportunity to compare comes in December..

I have to say, though, that if the trailer (see below) is any indication...we're in for a helluva ride!

But, I can say with a reasonable amount of certainty, that the soundtrack for the Hollywood upgrade will kick nine kinds of ass over the foreign mess.  And I can say that because Nine Inch Nails' frontman Trent Reznor is in charge!  Trent has been releasing bits and pieces of the music he's composed for the movie, but has been relatively quiet on the subject of  a release date.

As of now, we still don't have  solid info on a release date, but The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo Soundtrack by Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross will be released by Null Records in North America and Mute Records internationally. More info and details are expected on December 2nd on the official Nine Inch Nails site. The cover art has been revealed (see above) - nothing exciting, just a silhouette of series protagonist Lisbeth Salander.

Look for 'The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo' in theaters on December 21st.
