Red Hot Chili Peppers to Play in Israel for the Very First Time

The Red Hot Chili Peppers have accomplished a lot in their almost 30-year career. They have sold over 65 million albums worldwide, sold out venues everywhere and were just inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. However, the band can add a first to their impressive list when they perform live in Israel later this year.

As The Algemeiner Journal reports, the Red Hot Chili Peppers announced in a video that they will visit the Jewish-majority nation on September 10 in Tel Aviv. The group joins fellow megastars like Madonna and Lady Gaga, who are also making a stop in Israel this year.

“I would like to announce our huge joy and pleasure and excitement and the thrill we have to come to Israel for the very first time,” bassist Michael ‘Flea’ Balzary says in the clip, joined by singer Anthony Kiedis and guitarist Josh Klinghoffer. “The original guitar player of the Red Hot Chili Peppers, the great Hillel Slovak, may he rest in peace, was an Israeli. We’ve always had a great love for Israel and never had the opportunity to come, and we’re so psyched.”

“Basically, we love playing for people,” Kiedis chimes in. ”Children, middle-aged and old people, so come one come all. Come dance, come be merry. Come experience the joy of music as seen by the Red Hot Chili Peppers in your beautiful country.”
