While Geoff Tate steps away from Queensryche to concentrate on a solo album and tour, the remaining members of the band - Michael Wilton, Eddie Jackson, Scott Rockenfield and Parker Lundgren - have decided to continue to tour and record as a unit.  While they maintain that Queensryche "is very much alive",  they've moved on with new frontman Todd Le Torre of Crimson Glory in a project they've dubbed Rising West, a band that will apparently rely heavily on the Queensryche back catalog.

With that in mind, and given that the "former" Queensryche members were locked out of the QR website last week, and rumors of offstage arguments and musical differences within the band, it's possile that Queensryche  is "alive" in legacy alone.  Only time will tell.

In the meantime, Rising West played their first show Friday at the Hard Rock Café in Seattle, where they performed rare and classic hits from the first five Queensryche albums; the set also included a cover of Iron Maiden’sWrathchild.”
