Phone Scam Targets SWEPCO Customers

There is a new phone scam that is targeting SWEPCO customers. People are receiving phone calls for scammers pretending to be SWEPCO representatives. The calls are coming for SWEPCO's actual customer service number (888-216-3523) and the scammers are demanding immediate payment for over due bills.

The scammers are telling customers that if they don't call the collections department within 45 minutes to pay, their service will be shut off.

SWEPCO has issued a statement reminding customers that they will never call to demand immediate payment or to make threats.
