It has been a while since we've heard from The Damned Things, the supergroup consisting of Every Time I Die vocalist Keith Buckley and ex-ETID bassist Josh Newton along with Anthrax's Scott Ian (guitar), Volbeat's Rob Caggiano (guitar) and Fall Out Boy's Joe Trohman (guitar) and Andy Hurley (drums).

They released their debut album Ironiclast in 2010, and went on indefinite hiatus not long after that. Now there are reports of new music from The Damned Things. Hurley discussed it on the 100 Words or Less podcast (transcription via Metal Insider).

“I recorded five songs for an EP with The Damned Things — I don’t think we’ll be playing, Anthrax is still touring on their last record," Hurley reveals. "ETID just put out their new record… uh, who else? Josh Newton, I think, has been playing lately. He tech’d for Joe for awhile; I’m not sure if he’ll be back when we’re back. So you know, that’s all over the place.”

Hurley mentioned Anthrax are still touring on their last record For All Kings. They just announced the "Killthrax 2017" tour with Killswitch Engage that kicks off March 29 in Montclair, N.J. Before that, they'll be in Europe for the "Among the Kings" tour where they'll be performing their classic album Among the Living in full. For all their dates, go here.

Every Time I Die have a lengthy North American tour planned in support of their latest album Low Teens beginning Feb. 1 in State College, Pa. We'll keep you updated on any new info regarding a The Damned Things release.
