Avenged Sevenfold

Following the tragic passing of Avenged Sevenfold drummer Jimmy 'The Rev' Sullivan, former Dream Theater drummer Mike Portnoy manned the sticks for the band on the 'Nightmare' album and subsequent tour. Known as one of the greatest drummers of all time, Portnoy stayed true to the A7X sound while demonstrating his ability. Here, a 10-year-old has taken on Portnoy's challenging beats!

Avenged Sevenfold have just released their 'Hail to the King' animated series along with a trailer for the band's 'Hail to the King: Deathbat' mobile video game. The cartoon series consists of six episodes animated by 'Metalocalypse' director and co-producer Jon Schnepp, while the mobile video game emulates the classic "beat 'em up" style of classic console games.

Despite the success of their latest album, ‘Hail to the King,’ which arrived on Aug. 23, Avenged Sevenfold have had to deal with their fair share of detractors, including some trash talk from their peers in the metal world. Most notably, Machine Head’s Robb Flynn a very public dig at A7X, criticizing the band’s authenticity referring to their latest offering as a “covers album.”

Avenged Sevenfold released their sixth studio album, 'Hail to the King,' on Aug. 23. Although the act's fans have been eating up the album, Avenged Sevenfold have been met by various detractors as well, including Machine Head frontman Robb Flynn. Avenged Sevenfold singer M. Shadows responded to Flynn's criticism a short while ago, and now, guitarist Zacky Vengeance has done the same.

This year's Rock in Rio ended with a bang Sunday (Sept. 22) with rocking final day performances from Iron Maiden, Slayer and Avenged Sevenfold. You can watch A7X's full set above.

Next Tuesday (August 27th) is the date Avenged Sevenfold's 'Hail to the King' goes on sale, but you can listen to the album in it's entirety right now via iTunes.

Here ye, here ye: Avenged Sevenfold have released the new music video for their metal anthem, "Hail to the King." Unsurprisingly, the black-and-white video expands on the song's medieval-sounding lyrics, featuring kings, stark snowy landscapes and, yes, death.

Avenged Sevenfold have made several contributions to the 'Call of Duty' video game series. They'll be part of 'Apocalypse,' the fourth and final downloadable content (DLC) pack of 'Call of Duty: Black Ops II,' due to be released Aug. 27 on XBox Live.

It's been a busy news day for Avenged Sevenfold fans. Earlier, the band unveiled the full version of their new single 'Hail to the King,' and now they have announced an October tour of the United States with Deftones and Ghost B.C.

Avenged Sevenfold are apparently getting a little sneakier in their attempts to tease their next album. Earlier this month, the band offered their first taste of new music with a studio video soundtracked with a snippet of a cut from the upcoming disc that appeared via a radio player on their website.
