ALICE IN CHAINS
99X introduced the Ark-La-Tex to the new Alice In Chains track 'Hollow' just before the holidays. The song was vintage AIC, with the Drop D tuning, sludgy riffs, and harmonies, and had us chomping at the bit for the new album. At the time, little information was available about the forthcoming album - all we knew was it was due in the Spring, and as of now, still untitled...

Silvertide Reunites – New Music Coming in 2013 [VIDEO]
Silvertide is back! Great news for me, as their 'American Excess' EP and 'Show and Tell' CD were mainstays in my car CD player for 2 or 3 years. Live this band just killed. To this day, some of the best live performances I've ever seen. And I've seen a few. I predicted that these guys would be one of the hottest bands in the world...and what do they do? They break up. Bastards.

Hinder Prepare for Release of ‘Welcome to the Freakshow’ [AUDIO, VIDEO]
Oklahoma band Hinder has their fourth album in the can, and we should see 'Welcome to the Freakshow' in stores and online soon. 99X has been banging 'Save Me', the first track from the album, and if it's any indication, we can expect more of the arena rock/ballads that Hinder is known for, i.e., don't be looking for dubstep from these guys.

With King Animal - their first album of new material in 16 years - finally on the streets, Soundgarden are hitting the TV shows to pimp the new effort.  Last night, The Jimmy Kimmel Show hosted Chris Cornell and Company, and they blew out two songs from the new album

Rage Anniversary
Time flies, huh? Hard to believe that it's been 20 years since Rage Against the Machine released their first album, but on November 27th, the band will drop Rage against the Machine XX - a commemorative 20th Anniversary edition of their debut.

Leogun is a new trio from the U.K. you've been hearing a lot of on 99X lately. With influences ranging from Zeppelin to Jack White, it's no surprise that you you don't hear autotune, sampling, or the typical studio B.S. that a lot of today's new artists seem to overuse to the extreme.

Drowning Pool Premiere New Singer and New Song [AUDIO]
Dallas Rockers Drowning Pool are in the studio working on their fifth album with their fourth singer (so much for the 'third time is a charm' thing, huh?).  For the as-yet-untitled album (due in early 2013), the band brought The Suicide Hook singer Jasen Moreno on board, and if the first song resulting from combination is any indication, Drowning Pool is definitely back!

Chevelle Set to Release ‘Greatest Hits’ Collection [VIDEO]
Is the grass - or cash - greener on the other side?  Whenever I see that a band is releasing a greatest hits CD, I always assume that they've found a way to score more cash from a different record label, or they've decided to go at it on their own.  The old "so...according to our contract, we owe you one more album..."  And nine out of ten times, that album ends up being a live record, o

Shinedown have been across the pond recently (wrapping up their European tour just days ago), and at an interview with British magazine NME prior to their show at Brixton Academy in London, frontman Brent Smith dropped a little inside information: Shinedown's next album? The follow-up to the hugely successful 'Amaryllis'? It's already finished.

The Bad Boys from Boston marked the release of their new album 'Music From Another Dimension' with a free concert on the street in front of 1325 Commonwealth Avenue in Boston - the address of the apartment the band lived in during the early days of Aerosmith.
