As you're probably aware by now, KISS and Motley Crue made a HUGE announcement yesterday (Tues. 3/20) - they'll be touring together this summer! Two of the greatest rock shows EVER on one stage, almost every night...for weeks! You'll have to excuse me...I'm having a moment...

Well, it looks like I called this one (subtle pat on the back).  I've been saying since early last year that I expected a new Tool album by last this year/early 2013...and Tool drummer Danny Carey has vindicated me!  According to an interview with Vic Firth, Carey says Tool will be booking some studio time in June or July to lay down tracks for an upcoming album.

Guns 'N Roses are getting ready for a European tour with a series of intimate theater shows with their 'Up Close & Personal' Tour. The tour includes 7 shows this month, and a private concert during fashion week in New York last week. The private show took place at the Hiro Ballroom last Thursday, and GNR played for a standing room only crowd of 180...

It had been well over a year since Tool took the stage to perform but the absence from live playing is over. The band kicked off its brief winter run over the weekend in Reno, Nev., performing a set list filled to the brim with classics and fan favorites.

With Jane’s Addiction changing the release date for ‘The Great Escape Artist’ more than once, it’s understandable if some of the band’s fans had serious doubts that the album would ever see the light of day. But two of its songs, ‘End to the Ties’ and ‘Irresistible Force,’ have been circulating for weeks, and the latest evidence that the album really does exist is the recently released cover art.

The drummer slot in Black Label Society has seen a lot of turnover in recent years. Former drummer Will Hunt left in early 2011 to resume his role in Evanescence. This fall, the band is touring with Judas Priest. The man in charge of, as Black Label frontman Zakk Wylde puts it, “holding down the foundation of the black cathedral” will be former Breaking Benjamin drummer Chad Szeliga.
