Jack White is a what?!?!?!?  I've heard him called one on numerous occasions (like here, for one). But the Jack White I know is an ARTIST, a MUSICAL GENIUS, and therefore has a legitimate right to certain eccentricities, right? The man in this song can't be the same guy that sold out Municipal Auditorium a few short weeks ago, right...

The White Stripes'"Seven Nation Army" has become a bit of an anthem. It's played at sporting events, during intermissions and halftime, all over the place. It's difficult to escape the song.

On Friday, Jack White revealed that he will be launching a world tour in support of his forthcoming album, Lazaretto (in stores June 10). One of those dates - June 2 - will be at The Municipal Auditorium here in Shreveport.

Lately, Led Zeppelin/Them Crooked Vultures bassist John Paul Jones has been spending a lot of time hanging out with blues singer/guitarist Seasick Steve.  At the iTunes Festival in London Saturday,  JPJ joined Jack White (White Stripes, Raconteurs, Dead Weather) and Alison Mosshart (Dead Weather) onstage with Steve to jam on Mississippi Fred McDowell’s Write Me A Few Of Your Lines.

It's a sad day for rock, as The White Stripes have thrown in the white towel, and called it quits.
