After a kind of weak 2011 where Seether's album 'Holding Onto Strings Better Left to Fray' took top album honors, 2012 came out and kicked our asses and we still have several months left to go (including a new album from Soundgarden). Here is a list of our top albums of the year so far. If you have some you want to add, just leave a comment and let us know.

    HellYeah - Band of Brothers

Vinnie, Chad and the boys from Hellyeah didn't hold a damn thing back on their new album 'Band of Brothers'. They came out the gate swinging with the extremely heavy 'War In Me' and never stopped. Not only is it the hardest and heaviest album of their career, but it is also one of the heaviest albums of the year.

    Texas Hippie Coalition - Peacemaker

I love THC, but I never expected their new album 'Peacemaker' to be this damn good. The weakest track on album is still pretty damn good which in the age of singles is an amazing feat.

    Smashing Pumpkins - Oceania

Say what you will about Billy Corgan, but the new Pumpkins album is killer and probably the best one Billy has put out under the Pumpkins' name since the original line up split. He may not give the ass of a rat about you or me, but this album shows that he still cares deeply about the music...Thank god!

    Gaslight Anthem - Handwritten

These guys have been plugging away for a while now, consistently releasing quality albums and this year was no different. Their new one 'Handwritten' is exactly what you come to expect from them - a high quality, Springsteen/Clash inspired rock album.

    Lamb of God - Resolution

The seventh studio album from LOG, 'Resolution', is a significant improvement over their last album 'Wrath' and delivers all the bone crushing metal you expect from them and a few surprises you probably didn't.
