The almighty Slayer is preparing to hit the road again, at least what is left of the band after the tragic death of guitarist Jeff Hanneman and the expected dismissal of original drummer Dave Lombardo. Regardless of their absence, bassist/vocalist Tom Araya and guitarist Kerry King have decided to push forward with a couple of hired cronies to fill the void. After all, it’s not like Kerry King can make a living just doing Jägermeister commercials.

Yesterday, Slayer performed at the Rock In Rio festival in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil to gear up for their 25-date North American tour that is scheduled to begin on October 22 in Anchorage, Alaska. High-quality video of a portion of that show can be seen below.

Unfortunately, it looks like the closest Slayer will be coming to the Shreveport area is Dallas, Texas on November 13 at the South Side Ballroom. But come on, what die-hard metal head wouldn’t hitchhike three-hours to Dallas, if he had to, to catch Slayer in concert? That’s what we thought. But just in case your man parts closely resemble a hot dog bun, or your mommy simply won't let you go see a real metal band, we have posted video footage from Slayer’s recent performance at Rock In Rio for you to enjoy at your computer.
