Since the beginning of time, there has been no labels on our Beer, Whiskey, Vodka, Wine or whatever adult beverage you choose. So the whole time that we have co-existed with alcohol, there have been no labels telling us what was in that cocktail that we have consumed.

Quite frankly, I could give a s***.

But the Food Policy Institute at the Consumer Federation of America does.

Personally, if I drink to feel good, I don't measure it to make sure that I am consuming too many calories. Alcohol and calories are a gimme.

According to an article published in the Sun Sentinel, the Food Policy Institute at the Consumer Federation of America, wants you know how many calories are in your Light Beer, that a traditional Long Island Ice Tea has 400 calories (stating the 3 a week would make you gain a pound a month) and that the average glass of wine at a restaurant is much bigger than the recommended 5 oz. that is considered a "serving".

As it stand now, we know how many calories, sodium, vitamins, sugars, etc. that we consume on things we buy at the store, the government will be mandating that all restaurants will be required to tell us the calorie count of everything we consume from on the menu (disregarding the sodium count, which can be much worse for some people).

Nutrition labeling is on beer that contain less than 7% alcohol, as it is considered food (bwahahahaha). I am not one to be ignorant, let's just enjoy the good things what alcohol gives us.

To use a quote attributed to Benjamin Franklin, "Beer is proof that God loves us and wants us to be happy".

I'll drink to Ol' Ben and not read any label.
