What Is the Difference Between Easter and Good Friday?

Each year, the date of Good Friday is always on the Friday before Easter Sunday. This year it is March 29.

Easter is preceded by 40 days of fasting, and Good Friday and Easter Sunday are marked by church services full of meaning and importance.

Christmas is promoted as the key Christian celebration and is celebrated with much more color, music, gift-giving and festivity, but Easter is still given the higher importance.
