During a thunderstorm, you are always advised to go indoors, but for one woman, even being inside wasn't safe enough.

Lakeisha Brooks was standing on the checkout line at a Houma supermarket when a she was struck by lightning.

Fortunately, she is okay, but is recovering from burns from the strike.  The floor has a foot-wide blackened tile showing where the lightning struck.

Houma Today reports the woman was only in the store to buy milk and cereal.

The Terrebonne Parish Sheriff's Office says the lightning struck the roof of the store, conducted through the sprinkler system, and struck a metal plate on the floor.

The store remained open throughout the entire incident.
