Detectives with The Shreveport Police have arrested the person they believe is responsible for robbing someone at gunpoint at an ATM, and he's only 11 years old.

Just after 10:00 p.m. on January 14, 2017, Shreveport Police patrol officers were advised of an armed robbery of an individual which occurred in the 4600 block of Hilry Huckaby Drive. According to the report, the victim was in the process of using the ATM when a gunman accosted them and demanded money before running off on foot making off with only a small amount of cash. Luckily, the victim wasn't injured.

Days following the robbery, investigators provided surveillance video of the incident as it unfolded. Cpl. Marcus Hines, spokesman for the SPD, tells us how the suspect came into custody.

Since the release of video surveillance, authorities have arrested a suspect in connection with the crime. Just after 7:00 a.m. Wednesday January 18, the suspect arrived at police headquarters where he surrendered to authorities. The suspect, an 11 year old juvenile, was charged with a single count of Armed Robbery and booked into the Caddo Parish Juvenile Detention Center.

The case remains under investigation. No identities have been released.
