On October 10, 2021, Bossier Parish Sheriff’s Office responded to reports of a body found in Lake Bistineau. The man was identified as Shreveport resident, Borris Williams (8-1-1997). Williams had multiple gunshot injuries to his body and an investigation was launched immediately.

Detectives worked to develop information that ultimately led them to the crime scene which was a residence in the 3000 block of Lufkin Street, in Shreveport. Detectives canvassed the neighborhood and spoke with witnesses who provided information relative to the homicide. Through those interviews and other investigative techniques, detectives identified Reginald Grant, 4-5-1997, as the person believed to be responsible for William’s death. They learned that the two men lived together in the residence on Lufkin Street.

Grant was booked into the Shreveport City Jail on one count of Second-Degree Murder and one count of Convicted Felon in Possession of a Firearm following interviews with our investigative team.

An additional arrest in the murder of Borris Williams was made on October 14, 2021. Detectives were able to locate evidence and information leading them to the capture of Carl Grant (5-7-1994) as an accessory to the murder. Detectives believe that Carl Grant was aware the Williams had been murdered, failed to report the felony, and intentionally secreted evidence in an attempt to help Reginald Grant conceal the crime.

Carl Grant was charged with one count of Accessory after the Fact to Second Degree Murder and one count of Failure to Report a Felony Crime. He was booked into the city jail following interviews with investigators.

This murder investigation is a continued joint endeavor with the Bossier Parish Sheriff’s Office.
