Robbers Nabbed In Shreveport
It's disheartening to read the news seemingly every morning that an armed robbery has occurred in our community. That's why it's so uplifting to hear when police catch these alleged thieves.
Yesterday morning Shreveport Police arrested two men they believe are responsible for at least five armed robberies. An alert officer patrolling in the area of Linwood Avenue and Fuller Street noticed a silver Nissan Versa that matched the description of the vehicle used as the getaway car in a string of armed robberies. When the officer pulled the car over he found evidence linking the men to the robberies.
Stafford King, Jr., and Christopher Dumas were taken into custody and transported to Shreveport Police headquarters for questioning. After interrogations, investigators learned that the men are allegedly responsible for the March 4th robbery of the Werner Park Grocery, the March 17th and 20th robberies of the Metro PCS on East 70th Street, the March 30th robbery of the H&S Grocery on Hollywood Avenue, and the April 15th robbery of the Rodeway Inn on Westwood Park Drive.
Authorities are continuing to investigate to determine if the men are responsible for any other crimes.
