Another New Orleans Saint Facing Serious Criminal Charges
We are one week away from the start of the 2022-23 NFL Regular season. And, already, the New Orleans Saints are facing some serious adversity. This time it isn't an injury slowing the Saints down. It's the law.
According to WVUE, Saints Starting Safety Marcus Maye has been arrested in Jefferson Parish due to an alleged road rage incident. The Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office alleges that Maye was involved in an incident where he pulled a firearm and pointed it at a vehicle occupied by several juveniles.
NFL Insider Tom Pelissero received a statement from Maye's attorney Eric Hessler. In the statement, Hessler said "Marcus vehemently denies the allegation from a motor vehicle incident, and looks forward to defending himself when all the facts come out.”
New Orleans Saints Head Coach Dennis Allen stated today that the organization is still gathering information about the incident and declined further comment. This would be Maye's first season as a Saint. The Saints signed Maye to a three-year, $28.5 million contract during the off-season.
However, Maye isn't the only Saint facing legal troubles. Superstar running back Alvin Kamara is still facing battery charges in Las Vegas. On August 1st, that case was delayed until September 29th. You can read the latest on that case here.
