Another Platinum Selling Rock Band Starts Work In Shreveport

Shreveport social media went crazy earlier this week when stories of Smashing Pumpkins' singer Billy Corgan hanging out in town were posted. According to multiple posts, Billy Corgan was hanging out at various places around town, and helping to stimulate the Shreveport economy by purchasing vinyl at local record shop.
It was reported that Corgan and his band were in Shreveport to rehearse for their upcoming tour. Their new tour is called The Spirits on Fire Tour, and will be starting this weekend in Dallas. One of the other bands on The Spirits on Fire Tour will be 3-time Platinum selling band Jane's Addiction.
Now we know that Jane's Addiction is also in Shreveport this week, for the same reason Smashing Pumpkins are in town; to rehearse for The Spirits on Fire Tour. It makes sense that Jane's Addiction would be rehearsing in Shreveport, but do we have any proof outside of rumors? We do.
Jane's Addiction drummer Stephen Perkins posted on Twitter this morning as he landed in Shreveport. Even mentioning in his post that he's here for rehearsals.
This tour for Jane's Addiction is a pretty big deal, because original bassist Eric Avery has rejoined the band for the first time since 2010. Avery played bass on their massive albums Nothing's Shocking and Ritual de lo Habitual, but has left the band multiple times. Avery recently rejoined the group, and will be with them on this tour.
Now as cool as it is to have the Smashing Pumpkins and Jane's Addiction in Shreveport to rehearse, there are a lot of Shreveport area residents who have voiced their displeasure online that the band's are willing to practice here, but don't have our area on their tour schedule.
