Area Schools Included in New ‘Louisiana’s Top Colleges’ List

With the "early season" college application deadline coming up soon - November 1 for many - the personal-finance website WalletHub released its 2020's Best College and University Rankings, plus separate state rankings for colleges and universities.

To help college-bound seniors choose the best schools within their states, WalletHub compared more than 1,000 higher-education institutions across the US, using 33 key measures broken into seven categories. Leading that list: Student Selectivity, Cost & Financing and Career Outcomes.

Close to home, Shreveport's Centenary College made the state's Top Ten list, as did Louisiana Tech in Ruston, Louisiana-Monroe and Northwestern State in Natchitoches. Certainly most surprising is the failure of any branch of Louisiana State University (Baton Rouge and Shreveport included!) to crack the Top 10!
