Our community is mourning the loss of an airman. Joshua Kidd, 30, was killed Tuesday morning outside of his home in the Green Acres Place subdivision.

Joshua Kidd was a Tech Sgt. in the Airforce stationed at Barksdale Airforce Base. This was his fourth assignment. He was previously stationed at Osan Air Base, Korea, and Spangdahlem Air Base, Germany.

Col. Michael Miller, 2nd Bomb Wing commander commented on this tragic loss.

“The loss of an Airman in such a tragic event is a devastating blow to our team,” said Col. Michael Miller, 2nd Bomb Wing commander. “We ask that you keep TSgt Kidd’s family and friends in your thoughts as we work through this extremely difficult time.”

Recently, there have been a number of vehicle burglaries in the Green Acres area. It is not officially known at this time, if a possible vehicle burglary is what resulted in Kidd's murder. Detectives with the Bossier City Police Department went door to door in Green Acres Place asking residents for any information including video surveillance that they may have about the crime. The investigation is ongoing.
