Baton Rouge TV WBRZ reported police are still searching for an attempted kidnapping suspect.  An LSU student ordered food that was delivered by an alledged Door Dash delivery driver, who then attempted to take the student. Door Dash released the following statement:

"What has been reported is terrifying and deeply disturbing, and we are reaching out to the victim to offer our support. We have banned the alleged perpetrator from our platform and are assisting law enforcement with their investigation. No one should ever have to go through something like this and we hope justice is served."

This is the second kidnapping attempt reported this semester on the LSU campus, that victim has been found and reported safe.

Another student was shot outside Laville Hall as they attempted to disarm a mugger.

WBRZ also reported police are searching for a burglary suspect who broke into the Baptist Collegiate Ministry along Highland Road near E Chimes Street on August 11th. Police released a photograph of the suspect on bicycle in the area.

LSU spokesperson Ernie Ballard said LSU is increasing measures to help with security on campus.

"We'll have new lighting systems across campus, we are looking at upgrading our camera system, they'll start seeing officers out there more often overnight."  Ballard reminds students to "always be aware of their surroundings, walk with somebody... we just want to make sure everybody is doing everything they can to keep themselves safe, and everybody else safe."
