Warner Bros. Is Making Another ‘Invasion of the Body Snatchers’ Reboot
Invasion of the Body Snatchers is an undeniable sci-fi classic, the O.G. one-of-us-in-this-room-isn’t-human narrative, which is probably why it’s been remade so many, many times. The original 1954 novel The Body Snatchers by Jack Finney inspired the 1956 Don Siegel film, which was then remade in 1978, in 1993, and agin in 2007 with Daniel Craig and Nicole Kidman (The Invasion). So it should come as no surprise that Warner Bros. is making plans to reboot the story for the modern era.
Looks Like the ‘Hellboy’ Reboot Will Land at Lionsgate
The Hellboy reboot is close to finding a home. Lionsgate is close to picking up Hellboy: Rise of the Blood Queen (hell yeah), which will star Stranger Things’ David Harbour in the title role.
Matt Reeves Wants to Take a Cue From the ‘Planet of the Apes’ Series and Make Batman More ‘Emotional’
Matt Reeves has a pretty intimidating task ahead of him with The Batman: He’ll have to fill the shoes that Ben Affleck himself almost wore as director, and he’ll also have to make a solo superhero film that stacks up against Patty Jenkins’ Wonder Woman, which has bested all four of its DCEU predecessors at the domestic box office. He already has a few plans up his sleeve, one of which is to make it more like Planet of the Apes.
Neil Marshall’s ‘Hellboy’ Will Embrace Practical Effects, R Rating
How about some good news? While the fact that the next Hellboy movie we’re gonna see won’t involve either Guillermo del Toro or Ron Perlman, new director Neil Marshall (Game of Thrones) is on the right track to keep fans of the comics happy. He recently explained that his Hellboy will go hard for the R rating, and will shy away from too many special effects.
Matt Reeves Says He’s Going Hitchcock for ‘The Batman’
Matt Reeves is the type of director who makes action movies that are primarily character studies: the character-driven empathy of the Planet of the Apes movies were a pleasant surprise and departure from what could have been just another big-budget CGI soup. Reeves is a director who makes you care about the people in his movies, which is why he might be the best choice to direct Ben Affleck’s The Batman after Affleck himself stepped down. Reeves’ work on War for the Planet of the Apes is done, and now that he can turn his attention to his DC movie, he already knows which director he’ll turn to for guidance.
Michelle Monaghan’s Julia Is Coming Back for ‘Mission: Impossible 6’
Tom Cruise’s Ethan Hunt won’t be the only familiar face returning for Mission: Impossible 6: Michelle Monaghan’s Julia, Hunt’s wife and a Mission: Impossible mainstay from the third film all the way to Ghost Protocol, is coming back to the series.

The owner of the largest privately-owned Star Wars memorabilia collection in the world, known as Rancho Obi-Wan, has announced today that it has been systematically robbed over a period of many months from 2015 to 2016. Steve Sansweet, who offers tours of the ranch and its many pieces of Star Wars history, says that not only do the items taken make up about $200,000, it appears to be an inside job.
Stan Lee Teased a ‘Major’ New Character in ‘Avengers: Infinity War’
Avengers: Infinity War is going to contain a truly ridiculous number of characters, new and old, all ready to duke it out for possession of the most powerful weapon in the universe. There have already been a few rumored new additions — like Thanos’ dogs of war the Black Order — but Mister Marvel himself, Stan Lee, recently teased yet another new addition that fans of the comics will really be excited about.
M. Night Shyamalan’s ‘Glass’ Will Have a ‘More Traditional’ (Read: Bigger) Budget
M. Night Shyamalan’s Split was a welcome surprise at the movie theater this year for two reasons: the first being (spoiler alert) it’s actually set in the same universe as Shyamalan’s fantastic superhero movie Unbreakable, and the second being that it was made on a crazy-low budget. $9 million became $275 million at the box office, paving the road to a sequel, titled Glass, which was announced by Universal last month. M. Night Shyamalan is back, baby!
Is the Han Solo Movie Taking Us Back to Tatooine?
For Star Wars, a series that has become a franchise built largely upon nostalgia, returning to some of their greatest hits within their movies has become par for the course. Sure, we were introduced to something like seven completely new planets during Rogue One, but that movie still checked all the boxes: cool female protagonist, Jedi lore, Dark Side, Death Star. The Han Solo movie is also going to bring us to some completely new territory, but would it be a Star Wars movie without a visit to a certain desert planet?

Today, we got our first official look at the film, with four new images.
‘Alien: Covenant’ Clip: The Spineburster Is Your New Worst Nightmare
Alien: Covenant is arriving soon, whether we’re ready for it or not, and a short new clip assures us that this movie is definitely more horror than sci-fi. Even these thirty seconds are enough to make one feel antsy, and the final sound effect is enough to send a million chills down the spine. The Xenomorphs are back, baby!
