The latest in a long line of closures in our area due to the Coronavirus crisis is affecting the proud men and women of Barksdale Air Force Base in Bossier City.  The commissary housed on the base has been closed for the rest of today and all of Monday after an employee tested positive cor COVID-19.

According to a report from the ArkLaTex Homepage, an employee that worked in the administrative office and had little contact with customers tested positive for the infection caused by the Coronavirus.  That unnamed employee has been sent home and the store has been closed for deep cleaning.

This compounds an order from base commanders issued April 1st that restricts all those living on base not to leave.  The order also commanded employees who live off-base to stop going off-base in order to buy groceries, get take out, etc.  This new development essentially cuts off the supply of items usually found in the commissary from those living on the base until Tuesday.
