Do You Smell the Mardi Gras in the Air?

Okay, maybe it's just the delicious king cake that has started to be served all over town.

It's no secret that our favorite colors this time of year in the Bayou State are green, gold, and purple. Isn't everyone's favorite flavor king cake until Easter comes around?

King cake is a New Orleans delicacy, a perfectly smothered brioche cake with white icing and sugar in the colors of Mardi Gras green, purple, and gold. In many cases, there's a plastic baby, hidden inside each one. I prefer when they load it up with cream cheese inside and leave the baby outside of the cake.

King Cake is All Over Shreveport-Bossier

The beauty of king cake is that Shreveport-Bossier offers its own spin on the classic Mardi Gras dessert.

Not only do several shops and restaurants offer unique takes on the delicious Louisiana treat, but chefs and bakers are stepping up to show off their cool takes on King Cake in different forms. The only problem we are finding is how does one find a way to try all the different options?

I know that Bergeron Giuseppe's Pasta Cafe has already announced they're bringing their delicious king cake cannolis back, and of course, Bergeron's famous King Cake Ice Cream is back in the freezer at both of their locations in Shreveport-Bossier.
