The march back to honest-to-goodness, in-person learning for kids in our area has been slow and confusing.  As a parent, I have never felt as inadequate as I did trying to help my 6th grader with distance learning.  Was I smarter when I was his age, or did it get much harder?  For the sake of my self esteem, I'm going to go with the latter.  Now that he's physically back in school every day, my fragile ego is safe.

Unfortunately, schools in Caddo Parish are struggling to maintain a vetted roster of substitute teachers.  These stand-ins are more vital than ever when regular teachers might need to quarantine themselves at a moment's notice.  Administrators are desperately trying to fill 100 vacant positions as soon as possible (yesterday would be nice).

Want to help?  If you have a high school diploma and a clean record - you qualify!  You will also need patience and a true love for helping kids learn.  If you are looking for something a little more permanent, school officials are also on the hunt for lots of teachers, support staff, and more.
