Darla McDonald is this Week’s Caught in the Act Award Recipient

Each week, Gary and Bristol shine the light on one of our local residents who help to make Kiss Country the greatest place in the world to live!

This week's recipient is one of those people that you're glad to have in your circle. Darla McDonald was nominated by her co-worker Jenn Kruithof for her big heart and constant acts of kindness, which is why she has earned the distinction of being named this week's recipient of the Kiss Country Caught in the Act Award.

Just take a look at the letter we got from Jenn:

Selfless is the first word that comes to mind when I think of Darla. She has such a selfless heart. Darla has been a 911 Dispatcher for over 20 years, which in itself speaks volumes about her character. Not only does she work full time as a Dispatcher, she also helps run her family’s Pest Control company, she is a mother, grandmother and recently became a great grandmother. Darla is a big advocate and supporter for Bossier Parish 4H as well, even when she isn’t coaching or watching her own grandkids she is there supporting all of the other kids that participate rooting them on and encouraging them. She is also a lover of all fur babies. She hosts and supports supply drives for local animal rescues. At Christmas time Darla puts together thoughtful gifts for local schools. On top of all that she makes quilts and crochets beautiful blankets and others items for others. In the almost three years I’ve known her she has had two shoulder surgeries and even through that I’ve seen her make quilts for others, and she never asks for anything in return. She crochets and quilts the most amazing gifts and she does it all out of the kindness of her heart. Darla is a genuine person, she is kind, caring, and just simply beautiful inside and out. She never does anything for herself, but she is always doing for others. I am blessed to call her my friend.
