Things are moving right along on Bossier's Downtown Re-envisioning Project.

City Project Coordinator Pam Glorioso shared an update with the city council at Tuesday afternoon's meeting. She said every day, the phone is ringing from people wondering how to bring their small businesses downtown.

"We kicked this project off with construction April of this year. Our contractor, Boggs and Poole, has done an exceptional job and they are on schedule," she said. "The weather that put us behind, he is now caught up."

Glorioso also said there is asphalt on the ground between Traffic and Arcadia, and the next phase will pick up at Arcadia and take it to Mansfield Street.

"We met with the contractor. There are some, as I've called, 'oh-ohs' that we've encountered because there are so many unknowns in the infrastructure that lies underneath the asphalt there," said Glorioso. "But the water and the sewer are being taken care of."

The project is expected to be completed by April or May of 2017.
