For nearly three decades, Conan O'Brien has been seen late at night on TV's across the nation. Now, he's stepping away from late-night.

Just when I thought 2020 couldn't possibly get any worse, this news breaks. Since I was a kid, Conan O'Brien was my absolute favorite, if I could stay away late enough to see him. As a kid, he always seemed much more like a cartoon than a real human, and nearly thirty years later, he remains as a larger-than-life late-night TV host.

To go along with being one of the greatest late-night TV hosts of all time, Conan was also a writer for two of the biggest shows in history. Those two, of course, being Saturday Night Live and The Simpsons.

Years ago, I have to say it broke my heart to see NBC do Conan the way they did. After locking down his dream job, host of The Tonight Show on NBC, the broadcast company decided to shift gears and prioritize Jay Leno, the host who Conan replaced. After telling NBC where to stick it, Conan headed to TBS, where I feel he and his team produced their best work. Clearly operating with extreme freedom, Conan made quite the home for himself, his show, and his fans on TBS.

Now, Conan is getting ready for the next chapter in his life.

In June of 2021, after concluding his TBS show's 10th season, Conan O'Brien will officially leave late-night TV altogether, leaving a 6'4" hole in all of our hearts.  There is good news, however, and that is the fact that this really isn't a "goodbye", it's more of a "see ya later".

Some of Conan's most memorable moments come when he travels abroad and takes his show on the road. Luckily for us who love these episodes, "Conan Without Borders" will continue to run on TBS.

Also, Conan has already found his new home for his new TV show. This week, Conan announced he has signed a deal with HBO Max to host a weekly variety show on the streaming platform. The exact details of the show have not been released yet, but in a statement released by WarnerMedia, Conan sums it up best by saying, "I’m thrilled that I get to continue doing whatever the hell it is I do on HBO Max, and I look forward to a free subscription.”

We'll miss you on late-night Coco, and we can't wait to see what's next!
