Kristi Gustafson, Executive Director of North Louisiana, talks with 101.7 / 710 KEEL's Robert J Wright and Erin McCarty about the plan to reorganize Shreveport's Sci-Port Discovery Center and how her organization will be involved in the latest attempt to fix the troubled museum.

Gustafson tells KEEL listeners that that a new non-profit has been formed with plans to reopen the downtown children's educational center. That non-profit, Red River STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) will have to go before the Shreveport City Council for approval before they can take over the facility and and begin renovation plans.

Gustafson adds that while Red River STEM is waiting to receive its tax exempt status from the IRS, her foundation will be accepting donations on the non-profits behalf. She also made the point that any Sci-Port debts and liabilities will be the responsibility of the museum's prior management group.
