As if having Hurricane Delta targeting the state isn't enough, another coronavirus cancelation is like adding insult to injury for a local high school football team.

Students in the Ark-La-Tex waited forever to find out if they'd have in-person classes this fall, much less get to enjoy Friday night lights. Unfortunately for one Bossier Parish school, there won't be a football game tomorrow, Friday, October 9, 2020, or the following Friday, October 16, 2020, due to COVID-19 concerns. The Bossier Parish School Board sent out notice this afternoon that Bossier High School would forego this week and next week's game because one of the members of the football team tested positive for coronavirus. As a result, the entire team is in quarantine and their games against North Caddo (10/9) and Montgomery (10/16) have been canceled. Contact tracing is also underway. The quarantine just so happens to be happening at the same time as the Bossier Schools' planned fall break running October 12 - 16, 2020.

Bossier Schools Superintendent Mitch Downey would like to remind parents to keep their child home if they are ill and not to send them back to school until they have seen their doctor or are symptom free.
