The Dallas Cowboys are doing their best to keep their best players locked up for the foreseeable future. However, the Boys have had trouble getting players to sign on the dotted line. Zeke Elliott has yet to show up for practice. Dak Prescott reportedly wants to become the top paid player in the NFL. And that's just the tip of the iceberg...the Boys also have to get deals done for Amari Cooper and several key defensive players.

However, things may be turning around for the Cowboys. According to new reports, the Boys latest offer to Zeke may be the one that gets him back on the team. According Mike Fisher of Maven Sports, the Cowboys have offered a deal to Elliott that would put in him in the "Todd Gurley" range. Todd Gurley makes roughly 14 million dollars a season. At worst, the deal would make Zeke the 2nd highest paid running back in the league.

NFL reporter Jeff Darlington told ESPN: "This is a win for Ezekiel Elliott. If he gets the big pay-bump this year and doesn't have to hold out next year or even the year after that, this is a win for Ezekiel Elliott. He will be back by Week One." This would be a huge first step in helping the Boys keep their core of stars together as they continue their push for a Super Bowl Championship.

In Elliott's three seasons in the NFL, he has led the league rushing twice. In 2018, Elliott was the rushing champion, recording 1,434 yards and six touchdowns on 304 carries. In his rookie season in 2016, the Elliott tallied 1,631 yards and 15 touchdowns on 322 carries.
