CPSO Traffic Stop Leads to Drug Bust of Shreveport Man
Caddo Parish Sheriff's Office Narcotics agents made a traffic stop that led to the arrest of a Shreveport man after finding drugs, cash, and a minor in the car. On Tuesday, November 22, the Caddo Parish Sheriff's K9 Unit, DEA Taskforce, ATF Task Force, FBI Task Force and the CPSO Patrol Division assisted CPSO narcotics agents with conducting a traffic stop and executing two search warrants on Emmanuel Barrett, 53.
Sheriff Steve Prator said his narcotics agents found $7590.00 worth of drugs in his possession during the traffic stop. After pulling Barrett over, K9 Deputy Bryant Mendolia discovered 29 grams of methamphetamine in Barrett's pockets, along with $784 in cash. Barrett then attempted to flee but was quickly apprehended. Deputies also found a child under the age of 13 in the vehicle with Barrett.
After a search of the car, and Barrett's home in the 9000 block of Mansfield Rd, deputies seized 69 grams of methamphetamine with an estimated street value of $6900 dollars. They also found 69 grams of marijuana with an estimated street value of $690, and $784 in cash.
Barrett was subsequently booked into the Caddo Correctional Center facing numerous charges, including possession of schedule II narcotics with intent to distribute, resisting an officer, and illegal use of a controlled dangerous substance in the presence of a juvenile.
